Background
FUNKretrospect began as a personal archive, born from curiosity and built with love. One album led to another, and soon I found myself deep in the dazzling, electrifying world of 70s funk - exploring not just the music, but the fashion, the album art, the stagecraft, and the cinematic grooves that surrounded it.
I'm a market researcher and marketer by profession, with academic backgrounds in both Business Administration and Graphic Design. In many ways, this project brings all sides of me together: the analyst, the collector, the curious observer.
Here you’ll find a celebration of the funk and funk-adjacent records that shaped the decade and beyond - plus the visuals and stories that surrounded them. From album covers and costume design to film soundtracks and forgotten studio legends, FUNKretrospect is my living scrapbook of the era’s boldest, most fascinating corners.
